The WORD became flesh

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

BEHOLD, you were angry, for we sinned; we continued in our sins a long time, and SHALL WE BE SAVED? We have ALL become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away; For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me. God is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together. There is no umpire between us who may lay his hand upon us both. If there be for man a messenger, a representative, a mediator, one of the thousand, to declare to man what is right for him, and he is merciful to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down into the pit; I have found a ransom'.

Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?

He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no one to intercede; then HIS OWN ARM brought him SALVATION, and his righteousness upheld him. God will provide for himself the lamb. And a Redeemer will come to Zion. Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth. Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. BEHOLD, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel- God is with us.

And The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God; Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his governement and of peace there will be no end. And this will be a sign for you; you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. BEHOLD, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!"

My word shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all. ... then man prays to God, and he accepts him; he sees his face with a shout of joy, and he restores to man his righteousness. Jesus said "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. "BEHOLD, I am coming soon." Amen.

Come, Lord Jesus!
